The Azure Window.
An abstract painting inspired by a coastal rock archway formation on the island of Gozo, Malta which was one of the islands main tourist attractions before it collapsed in a storm in 2017. It is painted in oils on canvas with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required but it can be framed if you so wish.
Photographic Giclee print on FineART FibreMATTE 300gsm paper, using archival lightfast pigment inks. Paper size 23.5 x16.5 inches ( 59.5 x 42 cm ) Image size 14.4 x 13.4 inches ( 36.5 x 34 cm ) Limited edition of 25 Signed and numbered by the photographer (below the printed area) Photographed at Holywell Bay in Cornwall, one of my favourite beaches. The mist made for a very interesting morning of photography, with the shingle beach fading away to infinity. I love the ever changing tidal patterns on beaches, and living in Cornwall means a lovely beach is only a short drive away.....so lucky !!
Relaxing seaside scene set at the beach where the watcher peeps through the sand dunes out to sea. Contemporary painting that will suit any home. This painting has been varnished with a protective matt varnish and the painting continues round the edge of the frame making this ready for hanging with no need for framing. This is a standard edge canvas.
A large square contemporary gloss varnished acrylic painting depicting The Monument, London. I painted an animated fiery background to give the impression of flames reaching up to the sky as may have been seen during the Great Fire of London, to which the Monument was built in commemoration. It measures 910 x 910 x 38 mm (36 x 36 x 1.5 inches) and is painted on a deep set high quality cotton box canvas (380g/m2). The sides are painted so it doesn\\\'t necessarily need a frame.
CARVING DEEP BLUE RIPPLES
When Shaun creates a piece of work the process is mainly based on his experimenting with colour and textures combined with his emotions and environment at that time. On completion his aim is for you the viewer to see their own interpretation when looking at the artwork. His paintings are not primarily intended to create definitive images although that is what you the viewer may perceive. However, if asked from his perspective, Shaun would say using multi-layers of paint, textures and colours are more important. Colours may vary slightly from screen resolution. Room example only not too scale. Pale cream/grey wood effect frame. Signed on the back. With certificate of authenticity. Onto 9mm plywood.
Depth of the Ocean
The second picture in the Mystery of Colours series. It shows the apparent calmness of the deepest parts of the ocean. Its dark and lighter blue shades take us closer to the powerful and also magnificent force of the deep sea. Its painted on canvas using Brusho and acrylic. The picture measures: 30x40cm/11x16. Framing not necessary and is ready to hang as landscape or portrait.
Spirits of Winter
A large 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large contemporary landscape painting of two deer in a snowy birch tree forest. It is painted in semi abstract, art nouveau style with realistic deer contrasting against the abstract landscape. The trees are loosely based on aspen or birch trees and the perspective is arranged to make the deer look as if they both have their own path into the woods. They are arranged almost as a mirror image of each-other because to me that looks balanced. The paint is very thick in places and patterns can be seen forming in the snow if you look closely at it. It was inspired by a trip the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey where there are herds of of roe and red deer including a white stag. I always find deer enchanting and ethereal and in winter they are even more so as they can be spotted more easily than usual against the pristine white snow. However they can still vanish in the blink of an eye and mange to retain their mystery. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.
