Title, In passage An old fishing boat lays abandoned on the shingle beach of Dungeness in Kent. She's in passage to a point in time where she will no longer be recognisable as a boat but merely debris littering the beach and finally minute fragments between the stones. The seagull a passenger for a brief moment in the time of her journey. These boats need to be remembered .
Slow Start to the Morning
I love these old Thames Barges, they may be flat bottomed but they are so graceful in the water. This one was on a layover at Keyhaven on her way for a refurb further down the coast, so my daughter and I paddle-boarded out to take hundreds of photos. She didn't have a mast or sails so I had to find references for them elsewhere. She also had no bowsprit which I think probably means she was racing since the 1960s when they were deemed unbalancing and unsafe! She was just so beautiful that I had painted her fully refurbished and graceful in the water, so tranquil and gentle. This is an acrylic canvas, painted around the wrap, measuring 30" x 23" which really makes it a really impressive painting on the wall.
Lakeland Sunset Calm
A calming lakeland scene inspired by visits to Canada, Scotland and The Lakes. The painting continues round the edges of the frame so it is ready to hang with no need for framing. This creates a very simple but effective style. This painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish. This painting is on a standard edge canvas.
The Summer Tide Recedes
Leave Only Footprints
I have been working on this painting for ages.. my illness means I am not able to work as fast as I used to.. I have incorporated driftwood, sand, seaweed and pebbles into this painting.... The painting bit of the picture is done in acrylic paint...there is a subtle glittery bit on the sea that does not show up on the photos.I have used paint to depict the waves brushing over the sand. The beach is so clean except for the drift wood, seaweed and footprints...just how it should be.. This painting is varnished and ready to hang in your home or office.. It can possibly be hand delivered and hung for small charge..
The Yacht, The Moon and The Lovers
Can you just imagine it? One of those journeys that you've both been planning for years, and after a great days sailing, you throw out the anchor to watch the sun go down and then the moon rise. A bottle of wine cooling in the ocean on a length of string and just the two of you, quiet, relaxed and in love. I adore painting the moon and love the reflections it makes on the ocean. It's an acrylic painting on canvas, painted around the wrap. It's 60cm x 80cm and looks incredibly impressive in even a big room. People say it wouldn't go in a small room but it was 'stored' on my tiny little house's wall between exhibitions and looked really great, so don't be put off by thinking it wont fit. Most artists will always understand if you really hate it on your own walls, I know I do and I would always refund the cost of the artwork if you felt it wasn't right.
