Summertime Riverbank
Description:
Summertime Riverbank is a semi abstract painting of the wildflowers and teasel seen by an English river in July. It is 36x30x1.5inches. In the foreground you can see the lilacs and pinks yellows of teasel and other wildflowers and behind them the hint of a calm river and the opposite bank. The painting is semi-abstract and unique in style as though it is an oil painting it has the fluidity of a watercolour. It is wispy and ethereal just like nature and the seasons themselves are. The painting was inspired by a walk and boat trip along the banks of the river Ouse near Lewes. It aims to capture a perfect moment in summer but reflects the transient nature of summer in the UK at the same (fleeting). Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity and gifts from the artist.

Chaos in the Meadow
Description:
Chaos in the Meadow is a joyful semi abstract oil painting illustrating the sheer chaos of nature that you find in a flower meadow in summer. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The painting is semi abstract in style and is extremely colourful. Many different types of flower and grasses are hinted at and all of them are trying to get attention which causes a beautiful chaos. This painting was made after a walk on the Sussex South Downs and I love how this one tiny patch of wildflower meadow showed me so much life and enthusiasm. I have used layers and glazes of colours to give this painting an iridescent glow and its colours change throughout the day because of this - almost like stained glass. Behind the flowers you can just about see some of the fields below the hills looking towards Lewes. It is dedicated to all those walkers, cyclists and environmentalists that I meet on the downs who are helping to keep this area beautiful and its nature thriving. Summer Riot
Description:
Summer Riot is a large square semi-abstract landscape painting of a hare in a wild summer meadow. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The idea of this painting was to show the sheer enthusiasm with which nature expresses itself â even in the smallest corner of a summer field. It is literally exploding with life and energy. The flowers are fairly abstract but hint at buttercups and clover and a mad array of grasses and other wildflowers. The hare is hiding to the right of the centre of the summer explosion and she looks a little confused by it all. The edges are blurred and the paint thickness varies a lot in order to add to the slightly mad energy of it. It was painted after a walk I took recently near the South Downs where the farmland is simply beautiful and a corner of a meadow is endlessly entertaining (to me at least). I did see a hare in the distance but she did pose for more as this one does (I do love artistic license). Spirited Away
Description:
Spirited Away is a semi-abstract explosion of a landscape showing daisies in a summer meadow. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The daisies are seen in a meadow with trees behind them and a stag can be seen watching in the distance. He is ready to spirit away anyone who wants to follow him (a reference to the fact that deer are often seen as spiritual guides or messengers in more than one culture). There is a suggestion of a path that leads up to the trees. The colours are white, lilac, grey, yellows, orange and soft pinks. The landscape is bursting out from the centre of the painting in a joyous whoop of happy summer celebration as I tried to show the exuberance of summer and the way that nature splurges on the season. These are hand made, so each is unique. The edges are finished in liquid gold or silver leaf, according to colour selections, or left plain if I feel that works better. If they are plain and you wish for them in silver or gold I'm always happy to change them at no extra cost. They are resistant to heat to 70-80 degrees.
