Rocks on the Scottish Coast
This is a coastal scene taken from the Scottish Highland coast near Duffus. Craggy rocks, crashing sea and clouds blown by the off shore winds. In this semi abstract painting I have tried to draw every bit of colour from the scene and emphasise the wonderful rock formations, dragging the paint to add texture. Taken from a photograph by Alison Johnson.

c35, hand made coasters, resin coasters, table protectors, unique gift
These are hand made, so each is unique. The edges are finished in liquid gold or silver leaf, according to colour selections. They are resistant to heat to 70-80 degrees. They come presented in a gift bag. Price is ã20 for the geode style, ã25 for the circular coasters. Postage to mainland UK is free. I'm happy to post abroad for additional cost. Buyer will need to check tax position and pay any additional taxes. All coasters are handmade by myself, in my Norfolk art studio. I can create coasters in custom colour combinations on request. These will take 3-4 weeks as the resin needs to cure over that period. Simply drop me a message.
THE MERMAID'S TALE
The symbol of the mermaid varies all over the world and is as interchangeable as the sea. Abstract take on the secrets buried beneath the depth. Sides are painted a darker blue, so no need to frame. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas, with hints of silver leaf. Comes compete with a Certificate of Authenticity and fixtures/fittings so ready to hang.
Will we ever reach the horizon?
Porth Jelly, Cornwall
Coming Home is a large square seascape painting of the sea, Seven Sistersâ chalk cliffs and the lighthouse at Eastbourne in East Sussex. It is 40x40x1.5 inches on white deep edge canvas. The sea is very blue and you can see the land fading off into a purple haze in the distance towards Seaford. A single seagull is returning home. This painting was inspired by the many times I have walked along these cliffs from Eastbourne over to Birling Gap. The sea is turquoise near the cliffs where it is affected by the colour of the rocks underneath it and is deeper blue as you go further out. Paint has been used liberally especially on the cliffs to give an idea of the texture. Dripples of white from the base of the cliffs hint at the motion of the sea and the erosion that is occurring because of it. This landscape is a great place to see for miles around over a beautiful sea and one I visited regularly to keep me happy during the covid lockdowns. No frame needed, ready to hang. Dedicated everyone loves to walk and who is active in preserving nature.
