Beautiful Heralds is a large glowing seascape painting showing sun, sea and sky and arriving swallows. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The three swallows are delicately painted in contrast to the beaming sun and clouds behind them and the waves rippling to the shore below them. This is another in series of tributes painted to my favourite birds - catching the moment they arrive from further south to make more swallows in the UK. It is a serene and joyous celebration of the continuation of life and the lengths that nature will go to simply survive. The colours are muted by liberal use of thick white paint but are mostly pale buttery yellow, light blue and lilac. The colours of the swallows reflect the colours seen in the sea and sky. Ocean Dreaming is large original oil painting seascape of a serene white ocean seen from the beach. It is 60x36x1.5 inches. The style is impasto (thick paint) and semi-abstract. The sun can be seen above the sea beaming in all directions but in very muted colours. The viewpoint of the painting gives you the feeling you are standing right at the edge of the white rippling waves possibly about to wade in. It is a calm sea and looks inviting. It is called ocean dreaming as many people dream whilst looking at the sea. It is a therapeutic place to be and I wanted to capture some of that feeling from my own ocean dreaming moments. The painting is very textured and was built up over several layers of paint so that odd little lines and blobs show through. I like this as it contrasts with the flat horizontalness of seascapes. This painting was inspired by a photo that I took when were on holiday last year. The as sunset and sea colours were beautiful and such a contrast to the dark rocks and crags of the cliffs. This oil painting is unframed but does not have to be as the painting is continued on the canvas sides.

Under Sea Rebel is a large blue and turquoise underwater seascape painting of a queen angel fish in a pristine Caribbean Sea. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The fish swims along intent on her goal and above her you can see the swirling surface of the rippling waves. Below her are the patterns of light that reflect from their motion across a sandy seabed. Behind the fish is the darker blue of deeper water in the distance. This painting was inspired by a recent Aruba holiday where I often saw this actual fish swimming around a particular jetty. I like the idea of the freedom she had if she could only continue to escape the tourists and fishermen. This is another in a series of underwater paintings inspired by the sheer beauty of a blue sea and the fish that live in it. A Good Morning Pier is of the pier in Deal, Kent waking up to the morning. The pier is stretching out into the distance and the sea is calm and still. The painting was created using watercolour and acrylic paint and the pebbly beach was painted using a splattered technique. It is varnished and does not need a frame.

Lights in Motion displays a Ferris wheel on one of Blackpool's pier. It is reflecting colourful light and it spins around. It is also accompanied by other fairground attractions lit up in light. It depicts Blackpool Illuminations and painted in watercolour paint. The painting is varnished and does not need a frame.

Harbour Haven is of a small fishing boat in Polperro, Cornwall. It is painted using watercolour and acrylic paint. Although the boat may seem lonely at first, the more you look at the painting, the more you realise it is protected and surrounded by a small village away from the crowds. The painting is varnished and does not need a frame.

Coastal calm is a mix media painting. It is of the beach and sea from a birds eye view perspective. The sea is painted in watercolour and acrylic paint and the sand is created by mixing sugar with paint to create a 3D textured effect. The painting is varnished and does not need a frame.

I was mesmerised by the sea from the back of a boat. This painting depicts my experience of this watching the land move away as we came home. There is a little silver leaf underpinning this oil painting, so it looks different depending on the light, thereby adding to the sense of movement in the painting.
