BOXED IN Don't die with your music still in you, follow your passion,it's in every sinew; sometimes you may have to conform but follow your heart, let that be the norm. People considered troublemakers when they were alive are often revered when dead; learn from their history, learn from the past, don't be ruled by your head; follow your heart with joy and passion- be the one that starts a new fashion.
Sunset in Abstraction
Song of August
Song of August is very large oil painting 72x48x2 inches of a magical summer landscape with birds and flowers by a lake. It has a real impact when seen from a distance as it is the sort of painting you feel you can walk into. The edges are built up of layers of greens, purples and blues like overlapping leaves and foliage and through these leaves you can see a glittering lake and distant trees. To the right are two white egrets who are woven into the landscape or are maybe even being formed by it. In the foreground are an abundance of brightly coloured wildflowers with the sparkling water of the green lake behind and between them. This painting was made by building up many different layers of colour one over the other so that though it is clear what it is, the style itself is abstract and contemporary. It was inspired by many walks I took this summer around the various mill ponds and fishing lakes that are common in the Sussex area. It is also a nod to the huge Monet waterlilies paintings murals which are similarly large and hard to make sense of up close but are very clear from a distance and make you want to be there when you see them. My intention in painting this was to create an impression of August on a sunny day that I could keep forever. It is painted on deep edge canvas so no frame is needed and the edges are dark green to match the painting.

Echoes of India
I just love the colours of India as well as the people and culture. This abstract painting depicts the colours and subtle shapes of India. It is very textured and painted in acrylic and metallic paints and, when looking at the images you will notice the colours alter dependent upon where the light shines on to the painting. It is painted on canvas and is ready to hang. A certificate of authenticity is supplied with the painting.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
An abstract oil painting with a swirl reminding me of a storm and big raindrops with some of the colours in a rainbow. It is painted on all sides so can be hung unframed but is available in a frame. The price is for it unframed but please contact me prior to purchase if you would like it framed in a 2 inch wide pine wooden frame as in the photo - the price would be £495.
