Abstract Summer - a summer wildflower impression
30 x 30 x 1.5 inches semi abstract landscape oil painting of a wildflower meadow. The colours are unrestrained and the painting hints at sinuous flowers and grasses with trees and a woodland behind them. This painting is my memory impression of the corner of a meadow in the sunshine. I never fail to be impressed by the colours and scents and feel of wildflowers and spend many happy hours wandering through fields like this. I tried to capture that blurred look you get when you take your glasses off and look at such a scene. Painted on deep edge canvas - edges white, no frame needed.
BRONZE HEGDGEHOG LIMITED EDITION
MANHATTAN IN THE FALL
When Shaun creates a piece of work the process is mainly based on his experimenting with colour and textures combined with his emotions and environment at that time. On completion his aim is for you the viewer to see their own interpretation when looking at the artwork. His paintings are not primarily intended to create definitive images although that is what you the viewer may perceive. However, if asked from his perspective, Shaun would say using multi-layers of paint, textures and colours are more important. Colours may vary slightly from screen resolution. Room example only not too scale. Pale cream/grey wood effect frame.
Summer Roaring - a summer abstract landscape
A large 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches semi abstract landscape painting of an English flower meadow. This painting shows a view across red poppies, buttercups and wildflowers. A path goes though them towards a gap in the trees behind them. It is an expression of the allure that countryside walking has where you always wonder what is in the next field or beyond the woodland. The flowers and trees are abstract in style but give the idea of summer flowers and grasses in all their enthusiasm to grow and seed as fast as they can. I tried to sum up meadow walking in this painting and in abstract style as it sits in my memory like that rather than botanically accurate details. It is another in a long series of my 'memory impressionism' paintings. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.
Abstract artwork on standard edge box canvas. This is done via a pouring acrylics method, with the addition of metallic micas. Its inspired by the Northern Lights. The edges match the front and it can be framed or hung as it is. This work is 12 inches high by 16 inches wide as displayed but can be hung in any direction. Varnished with resin, which gives it the glass like finish, and ready to hang. Postage to mainland UK is included, postage abroad can be quoted for on request.
June Melody - A Sussex Meadow in June
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large original semi abstract oil painting of a Meadow in June in England. This painting spans over a hazy English meadow. There are wildflowers and distant trees and the hint of a stream running through the field. The flowers, birds and insects are singing to the season - hence the name. I painted it after a walk through a meadow like this near Lamberhurst in Kent. I used thick paint, wet into wet technique and with many different brushes to get the impression of wildflowers and foliage but without getting too botanical. It is a memory impression of that place and that day and I am very pleased with the mood it conveys with nature in all its enthusiasm. Painted on deep edge canvas - edges white, no frame needed.
Through the Daisies to the Sea - An English summer landscape
A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large original landscape oil painting of a daisy meadow in summer. This painting was made after a walk near the South Downs in June 2018. The daisies were out in all their glory and the meadows were full of daisies and wildflowers and summer trees. A path leads from the daises to the fields and low hills beyond and finally the sea in the background. It is not a traditional portrayal of Cuckmere Haven, but is a composite made from memory that sums up that wonderful area for me. This large landscape painting captures the spirit of summer in a semi abstract rather than a traditional landscape way. The daisies are painted in thick impasto paint and there is an art nouveau feel to it. Deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.
