June Melody - A Sussex Meadow in June
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large original semi abstract oil painting of a Meadow in June in England. This painting spans over a hazy English meadow. There are wildflowers and distant trees and the hint of a stream running through the field. The flowers, birds and insects are singing to the season - hence the name. I painted it after a walk through a meadow like this near Lamberhurst in Kent. I used thick paint, wet into wet technique and with many different brushes to get the impression of wildflowers and foliage but without getting too botanical. It is a memory impression of that place and that day and I am very pleased with the mood it conveys with nature in all its enthusiasm. Painted on deep edge canvas - edges white, no frame needed.
Abstract artwork on standard edge box canvas. This is done via a pouring acrylics method, and is varnished ready to hang. The edges match the front and it can be framed or hung as it is. This artwork has a crackle glaze effect varnish. It matches artworks B56 and B57, being made from the same paint mix batch, although they have a plain varnish. I offer discounts for multiple purchases, email for details. This work is 8 inches high by 8 inches wide as displayed but can be hung in any direction. Varnished and ready to hang. Postage to mainland UK is included, postage abroad can be quoted for on request.
Through the Daisies to the Sea - An English summer landscape
A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large original landscape oil painting of a daisy meadow in summer. This painting was made after a walk near the South Downs in June 2018. The daisies were out in all their glory and the meadows were full of daisies and wildflowers and summer trees. A path leads from the daises to the fields and low hills beyond and finally the sea in the background. It is not a traditional portrayal of Cuckmere Haven, but is a composite made from memory that sums up that wonderful area for me. This large landscape painting captures the spirit of summer in a semi abstract rather than a traditional landscape way. The daisies are painted in thick impasto paint and there is an art nouveau feel to it. Deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed.

May Meadow - A Sussex Landscape
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large original semi abstract oil painting of a Meadow in May in England. The painting shows a view through a meadow full of white lacy cow parsley. Between the trees at the back you can see a yellow line of rape seed and to the right of the trees a goldfinch swoops over the field. The colours are predominately soft blues, turquoise, and greens with pink foxgloves and yellow rapeseed adding a flare of extra colour along the tree line. I painted this after a walk through fields around an ancient village called Rotherfield in Sussex in May 2018. The cow parsley was swaying gently in a breeze and insects and birds were industriously breeding and zipping around everywhere. The scents, sounds and sight of Spring were very evident. This painting immortalizes that lovely day for me and the view through the trees to the next field sums up the excitement I always feel when walking and wondering what may be in the next field or around the next bend... Painted on deep edge canvas - edges white, no frame needed.
Echo With Movement
I have had great fun creating some colourful abstract paintings lately.. As I have become more disabled it has been harder for me to continue to use brushes like before.. this new technique to me enables me to use colour without them... This artwork is 2 canvas each 8in square..I have chosen to hang them as shown, hanging in a diamond shape the red paint from the top one appears to be continuing down onto the the canvas hanging below to one size .. There is so much to see when you study them..far more detail than can be seen in these photos.. The paintings continues around all sides, and they have been varnished to protect them... I have not strung these canvas , as there are so many different ways they can be hung.. They will sit happily on a small tack placed in the wall.
I am enjoying doing some different art lately...after becoming a lot more disabled of late I am discovering new techniques of creating art.. ''Bizarre'' is very colourful, with lots going on in there! Lots of 'cells' of colour abound-- I have included 2 close up details.. The canvas could be hung any way you choose-its very much personal choice,. 25% of all sales will be donated to the O'Connor Haematology/Cancer Unit , Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where my son has been treated. now sold
