This is a large artwork on a regular depth canvas. The artwork looks great unframed and is currently so. This painting is very much an impact piece and will provoke discussion amongst viewers. The photo does not do the painting justice as it looks a great deal more eye catching and vibrant in real life.
Dragonflies and Foxgloves
This fantasy painting has been created using acrylic , oils and encaustic wax.Its mainly monochrome but I have added some colour in the form of foxgloves and dragonflies using melted wax. The water and light coming through the trees are created using oil paint--it works well and gives a lovely translucent effect. The sides are all painted and its been varnished to protect it. A relaxing lakeside scene depicting Lac Leman near Geneva and Lausanne in Switzerland. This painting was inspired by a recent hiking holiday in the area and the view of boats sailing out on a flat calm lake as the sun set behind the Jura mountains. This was painted for a friend as a reminder of her favourite view. If you would like something similar or a painting of your favourite view get in touch!

If you'd like to commission a smaller version of this painting please get in touch. Sunrise over the North East Arm of Lake Temagami in Canada (North of Toronto and the Algonquin National Park). I was on a six day canoe expedition in the wilderness and this is a painting based on a photograph taken on the last morning. We'd camped out under the stars and were cooking breakfast on a sun-warmed rock listening to the gentle lap of water against the shore. There were no other sounds at all apart from the breeze rustling the leaves in the trees. I look at this painting and it transports me back to that moment. The painting continues round the edges of this chunky edge box canvas so it is ready to hang with no need for framing. This creates a very simple but effective style.
