War Is Hell
'War Is Hell' is a relatively large, highly detailed coloured pencil drawing on Strathmore 400 series paper. I used photographs of my own for references, the dog being my mighty Leon and the vintage Harley is one I spotted outside a pub where I was exhibiting a few years ago. The writing on the helmet is a homage to the famous photograph with slogan written by a US soldier and taken circa 1965 in Vietnam, hence the title. I've included the Union Jack flag and several others on Leon's collar as the sentiment is universal. Measuring approximately 19 inches x 15 inches, it is presented in a white mount within a silk finished charcoal black frame with bright silver sight edge to a total size of approximately 27 x 23 inches, ready to hang.
Ball,Jug and Candle
Vibrant contemporary painting, in harlequin colours and patterns. Part Abstract and part Still Life the background shapes of a glass ball, a brass jug and a candlestick holder go opaquely over some of the shapes and yet can be seen underneath some of the transparent layers. The deep edge canvas sides are currently white and will be painted whatever colour you choose.
Huge vibrant modern artwork of a beach at sunset. The waves of the sea show breakers just turning, with the sea lapping aginst the golden sands creating tiny riplles in the waters' edge. The sunset has turned the clouds a myriad of tones of red, golds, orange and yellos turning to deep blue and violet at the top. A trio of seabirds wend across the sky, feathers faintly tinged with colour from the suns' rays. Currently hanging in my dining room, because of space limitations in the studio its a work thats proving impossible for my visitors to ignore!
