I painted this with thoughts of the lazy days of summer in my mind with the oilseed rape crops in the field beginning to ripen and the warmth of the sun on my face, the warm breeze carrying the scent of freshly cut grass. My series of silhouette paintings including the "Yesterday" ones have proved to be very popular-so here is the latest one! The sky is painted beautiful rich shades of purples that are lit up with a large moon-I have used a subtle gold glitter paint on the moon which catches the light. A little rabbit looks out from under the tree at the wonderous sight. It measures 12in x 24in on a chunky canvas-all sides are painted. Influences

A large multi media impasto painting.

Influences was inspired by looking at abstract artists throughout the 20th Century from simple imagery to bold expression of both subject matter and form wherein I produced a painting which started by throwing swathes of impasto acrylic direct from the tuttle against a yellow grounded box canvas & criss-crossing these strokes of flying paint and letting them settle and harden where they lay.

That made a lattice work of marks which I then painted in, over and in between and added acrylic paint and layered over the top alkyd oils and Sennelier pastels ( a wonderful medium ) all eventually sealed.

Influences are there to be seen or found, I had in mind Kandinsky., Picasso, Cesar Manrique, Mr & Mrs Delaunay, Miro, Klimt, Klee, Rothko, Dali, Hoffman and many others.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this original painting and it deserves a good home.
