The Raven's Wood
30 x 30 x 1.5 Original oil of an English woodland path. The colours are summer to autumn and there is raven circling above the trees watching as you walk her path. The painting was made after a walk in the Ashdown Forest where ravens and crows seemed to report my progress for the entirety of my journey. I never underestimate birds - they know far more than we assume and I would not be surprised if the Green Man himself is their boss. The painting is quite 3D in aspect and the colours shimmer and change throughout the day as the sunlight moves round the room. The style is impressionist, semi abstract. The edges are white with a hint of lilac and no frame is needed.
The Hunter's Shimmering Forest - A Large Colourful Semi Abstract Lands
A 36 x 36 x 1.5 inches large original oil on canvas. The painting is a very colourful, semi abstract landscape and has a white barn owl hovering in the gap between the trees above the woodland path. Her attention is on something we cannot see. The painting style is abstract expressionist, art deco and a little art nouveau and was created using thick oil paint that is slightly glossy. The canvas is deep edged and white with a hint of blue. A frame is not necessary. I painted the bright colours using varying brush sizes, wet into wet method, using lots of linseed oil and the tree and light shapes began to form as I did this. The owl went in last as I wanted her there to look after the final scene.

A 36 x 48 x 2 inch original oil on canvas of two universes meeting. One is very dark and almost Gothic and the other is very light and very enticing. On the left, a white bird has broken through from the dark side and on the right, dark birds can be seen watching her flight above a beautiful calm sea. There is a beach of red sand and blue waves lapping on the shore. The dark paint is a dark purple and very textured, The light side is smoother in contrast. This is a painting about the urge to keep fighting to get to the place you wish to be. It is optimistic and it demonstrates that things can always get better. If you have ever read Jonathon Livingston Seagull you will probably relate to this painting!
African Sunset Scene
Vivid African Sunset depicted with umbrella thorn (acacia tortilis) trees and distant mountains. Warm oranges, yellows and fresh blues mingle to create a sky alive with colour. Texture in the foreground creates added interest. The painting continues round the edges of the frame making this ready for immediate hanging with no need for framing. This painting has been finished with a protective silk varnish. This painting is on a standard edge box canvas. This painting is currently in an exhibition at Obsidian Art Gallery in Stoke Mandeville. Please contact me first if you wish to purchase it.
