One evening in 2010 at a Burley Art Club we had a "Van Gogh evening" where we set ourselves the task of painting our own version of one of his paintings and this is my resulting effort. I enjoyed the evening so much that later in my own time I painted another from the Sunflower series which I am happy to say sold almost immediately.

Open now to the public the reserve is now very popular with local dog walkers as well as wildlife enthusiasts. The lake is surrounded by woodland which has been there since the quarry was first established.
