A Day Away
Description:
This is No.18 in my `Northern Art` Collection...all the other 17 have been sold, and they seem to becoming quite a collectable item. They are all the same size, just a tactile 14" x 10" x half an inch thick. Painted on my own HANDMADE canvas boards. Sides are also painted so ready to hang, no frame required.
Here the grandparents have taken the nippers away for a day out, from the smog, and fog of the sooty town.
These paintings all have the same theme of a bygone era of the northern mill towns.

Tower Bridge at Twilight
Description:
An impressionist-style waterclour of Tower Bridge and the London skyline at twilight with a steam barge and it's smokey steam setting the scene to the right of the foreground. Painted in just 3 colours: raw sienna, light red and french ultramarine. This was commissioned. I'm currently undertaking a similar painting for a client using acrylic on canvas and I'm happy to take similar commissions in waterclour or acrylic.

The Twilight Watch

Untitled
Description:
An unusual depiction of a female nude with a dramatic lighting effect. The work is set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 68 cm x 48 cm x 35mm overall, strung ready for hanging. The painting is currently on display in an exhibition in Aix-en-Provence, France - though not for sale there) but can be reserved for delivery in early July. The Jewel of the River
Description:
The Jewel of the River is a 40x40x1.5 inches oil painting of a kingfisher by a river surrounded by fields and wildflower meadows. The edges of the painting are blurred so that you are transported into it across the white lacy cow parsley flowers in the foreground. You then see trees and fields leading off into the distance and there is a hint of a river glittering between the stalks of the flowers. The painting has transparent veils of colours moving across it that that help to give it a shimmering magical feel. To the right sitting on one of the flowers is a tiny female kingfisher. She is the jewel of the river. The painting is semi abstract contemporary art nouveau in style and was inspired by an area of the river Medway near Tunbridge Wells where I saw my first kingfisher. I love to walk and I love to spot wildlife and I find birds completely captivating. Especially highly colourful ones. This landscape encapsulates for me a perfect memory of walking along a riverbank in Springtime. Cosmic Nebula
Description:
I LOVE this painting! The photos really don't do it justice..there are so many colours going on in it..it really is one of my favourite ones ever!
The method I have used means that the acrylic paint becomes very unpredictable and there is no knowing how it will end up...
I used pure silicon, pure alcohol and a blow torch to create it!!
Every time you look at it you will see something new..so many 'cells' containing colours--the metallic ones catch the light beautifully.
At the moment it is hanging in a nearby exhibition, but I can take it out if it sells from here..
I have chosen to hang it the way up you see it but you may decide to hang it another way..it is entirely up to you..
It measures 24in x 24in and comes ready to hang in your home or office,
It is much more vibrant than it appears on here..the colours really pop out from the canvas,,
