Influences

A large multi media impasto painting.

Influences was inspired by looking at abstract artists throughout the 20th Century from simple imagery to bold expression of both subject matter and form wherein I produced a painting which started by throwing swathes of impasto acrylic direct from the tuttle against a yellow grounded box canvas & criss-crossing these strokes of flying paint and letting them settle and harden where they lay.

That made a lattice work of marks which I then painted in, over and in between and added acrylic paint and layered over the top alkyd oils and Sennelier pastels ( a wonderful medium ) all eventually sealed.

Influences are there to be seen or found, I had in mind Kandinsky., Picasso, Cesar Manrique, Mr & Mrs Delaunay, Miro, Klimt, Klee, Rothko, Dali, Hoffman and many others.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this original painting and it deserves a good home.

Homeward bound

A deceptively large - statement - piece 28 x 18 inches unframed.

In my Abstract Internal-ism style.

The intent is to put you in a nice relaxed mood, finding a moment for yourself, a time and place to own and relax by..even if only for a few moments - homeward bound is Internalistic, it is about finding your centre, your refuge, your peace. Being at ease where you are and in a serene mode of mind.

Waiting. ....SOLD

Sometimes being patient, courteous, even forgiving whilst we wait is a well known British attribute.

Unnecessary, frustrating when you know or even suspect that when you do get your turn you will either be put on a loop, played music to.,

ignored, told what you already know, misunderstood, passed on to someone else,

lost the connection and the rest!

That was the inspiration behind this relatively simple painting, I\'ve been there you have been there....let alone physically waiting.

Semi-abstract/surreal triptych.

An original oil painting by Tony Broadbent.

Using vibrant colours for effect, warmth and mood, I bring this slightly surreal skyscape into your home. It is there to provide an uplift, a change and a promise of better things to come, hence the title. A technical but fun painting none the less.

It makes a statement and cannot fail but to be observed, it commands attention in a nice way and is both easy and complicated. I enjoyed painting this one. Please note its size it is 84 inches wide ( 7 feet ) x 20 inches on box canvas.
