At www.affordablebritishart.co.uk, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulations – GDPR 2018). We collect information about you to process your order and also to enable us to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future. The type of information we will collect about you includes:
Email addresses:
Information we hold: We will have your Paypal email address as this is used as your Login ID
Where it came from: You submit it when you join the site
Who do we share it with? It is shared to no-one other than your Paypal Login page when someone makes an online purchase. It is not visible anywhere on the main site or accessible to the public.
What happens when I leave the site? It is deleted from our servers along with your image and text files
Telephone Numbers:
Information we hold: Either a Landline or a Mobile telephone number
Where it came from: You submit it when you join the site
Who do we share it with? It is visible as a contact telephone number on your gallery page

Your Registered Business Address:
Information we hold: The address you live at or work at (if a separate studio)
Where it came from: You submitted it when you joined the site
Who do we share it with? By law, it has to be accessible for clients in the case of complaints – similar to shops having to display their Head Office contact details on Stationary and in their premises. On Affordable British Art, it is not openly visible to all but is accessible from your own gallery page on a separate pop-up, for when someone is looking for it. They also have the option of contacting us directly and we will contact you on their behalf. We will never give out your registered email address – there are contact forms for clients to use which do not reveal your email address.
What happens when I leave the site? It is deleted from our servers along with your image and text files
Your Images/Text:
Information we hold: 3 Image files with your associated text description and price, for each artwork you display. The image files are the Main one, the Close-up and the In-situ one.
Where it came from: You submit it/them when you upload your artwork to your gallery
Who do we share it with? It/they are on open display on your gallery pages and are searchable on Google and other search engines.
What happens when I leave the site? It/they are deleted from our servers along with your image and text files. This happens when you leave the site. However, you should be aware that we have no control over Google and other search engines, who may continue to list your artwork/Artist Name after we have deleted your files from our Server, until such times as they run an updated search return.
Requesting That You Be “Forgotten” or Permanent Deletion Of Files.
You have the right at any time to request the permanent Deletion of all information and files we have with your artwork and personal details. If you wish to request this, then we will happily comply with your request. However please not that this will mean the inactivation and deletion of your gallery on Affordable British Art.
Please also note, that deletion of your information/files within the Free Trial period entitles you to a full refund of your Membership Fee, returned via the original method it was paid. Any request to delete your information/files after the end of the Trial period will be complied with but will not entitle you to a return of any of your Membership Fee.
Why do we collect this information?
We collect information about you to process your membership application and also to enable us to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. This is given by the checking of a consent button at the bottom of the Membership application page when you register. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future, should you change your mind.
We also keep a record of any e-mail correspondence that you send us in order to keep track of any problems, comments or concerns you may raise regarding use of the Website.
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent as indicated by your ticking of the consent button on the registration page.
How we may use the information we hold about you:
To answer your queries or complaints; to carry out general administration; for general statistics and research.
When required by law or in connection with legal proceedings (including where we intend to take legal proceedings), or as may be necessary to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
We may also give your information to a third party who may take over part or all of the Affordable British art website in the future, but only for the purposes outlined in this privacy statement and all member artists will be informed in advance and given the choice of whether to allow this and continue with their membership, or to refuse and discontinue their membership.
Protecting your personal information
All parties with access to your information are subject to confidentiality obligations. If you think someone else knows your password, or is using it, tell us immediately and we will advise as appropriate. Even though we take appropriate technical steps to protect your security, you should remember that data transmission over the internet cannot always be guaranteed as 100% secure so you use the website at your own risk.
Keeping your personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, as required by law; or to enforce or defend legal claims.
Requests for Copies of Information Held
You can check the information that we hold about you by writing to us at our Head Office. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. We make a small charge of £10 for each request for information. This is to cover the cost of producing the information and sending it to you by Registered mail. This fee should be paid at the time of the request, by enclosing a cheque with your written request. We will only send out the information to the named person, at the address which is registered with us, so if you change your address, please ensure that you update your contact details with us. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening if you wish but it causes no harm, is a common practice and helps us and other on-line vendors to create a better experience for you.
