Debbie Shawcross is self-taught amateur artist inspired by her talented father who was a watercolor painter. By day, she is a Professor of Hepatology at King’s College London but spends every free opportunity she can pursuing her passion for painting. She specialises in 'impressionist' watercolour and acrylic painting with a penchant for atmospheric landscapes and skies. London skyscapes including several of Tower Bridge have become one of her favourite signature paintings. She first exhibited her work at The Royal College of Physicians in July 2006 and has had subsequent exhibitions in 2008 and 2010. She undertakes commissions including most recently 'Tower Bridge at Twilight’,'Tower Inferno', ‘Moonlight Shadows' and ‘Cherry Blossom’ which are displayed in her gallery.

Young Adventurers of Machu Picchu #1 was a wild card entry earning a place in Heat 1, Series 10 of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2025 filmed in Hampton Court Palace in which Privy Garden #5 was painted.
