Black Cat & Yellow Butterfly
A black cat is depicted against a pitch black background by highlighting features, particularly the eyes. The yellow of the eyes is echoed in the yellow butterfly in the foreground at which the cat is intently staring. A blue / purple midfield set off the yellow to create a striking image. Acrylic on canvas with painted sides so there is no need to frame.
Prayer to a Fox
An original gouache painting of a fox entitled 'Prayer for a Fox'. This piece includes the wiccan symbols for 'intelligence' and 'blessings' as well as a symbol for home protection. In short I wish the clever fox well in its life but suggest that it stays away from my chickens! I have used the finest Winsor and Newton designer gouache paints (including a glorious gold!) and Indian Ink for the black background, all painted on 300gsm hot pressed, acid free, smooth watercolour paper. 10% of the sale of this item will go to a wildlife charity.
When Shaun creates a piece of work the process is mainly based on his experimenting with colour and textures combined with his emotions and environment at that time. On completion his aim is for you the viewer to see their own interpretation when looking at the artwork. His paintings are not primarily intended to create definitive images although that is what you the viewer may perceive. However, if asked from his perspective, Shaun would say using multi-layers of paint, textures and colours are more important. Colours will vary slightly from screen resolution. Room example only not too scale, on upcycled canvas. Signed on the back. With certificate of authenticity.
