My thanks to Isabel Morelli for the reference photograph. "Don't ruffle my feathers"! one blue and yellow macaw seems to be saying to the other in this pencil painting by Elaine Jones. The blue and yellow, or blue and gold macaw, ara ararauna, is native to tropical South American woodland and can grow to 30-34 inches and a weight of 2 or 3 pounds. These large, long-lived members of the parrot family are widespread in much of South America and are popular as pets because of their brilliant plumage, intelligence and ability to talk. In the wild they nest in dead palm trees and pairs usually mate for life, often reaching an age of 30-35 years. This original pencil painting is presented in a cream mount/matte ready for framing. (Image size approx. 29cm x 21cm" - external size 35cm x 28cm)
I love this little painting! The colours are so vibrant in "real Life" I even managed to get some texture in it making it look like there are pieces flying off a comet. I have used some metallic paint in parts and it really catches the light.. Turquoise blue, yellow, orange merge with the black paint. Some lovely effects on there that my camera isnt picking up.. Postage is free in Mainland UK Varnished and ready to hang.NOW SOLD
A contemporary painting of a field of bright red poppies. I have textured the background with swirls of silver and graphite to set off the bright red petals of the poppies and to create a modern style. This is a simple and clean picture that would suit any living space. This painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish and is on a deep edge canvas.
Hidden Depths (A4 Print of my Original painting)
HIDDEN DEPTHS Like a gateway to another galaxy, we all have hidden depths; sometimes theyâre so hidden, we havenât found them yet! like a diver in the depths of the ocean, oa black hole in the sky, we can find them deep within us, if weâre quiet and we try. This is an A4 Print of my original painting and was printed on a canon flatbed printer with genuine canon inks and is on photo paper. Can be viewed any way you like! Poem will be printed on coloured card to compliment the artwork.
The Peacock can be associated with the Phoenix, which is a perfect reminder that you can rise again with whatever you have been through. This beautiful bird also signifies internal and external qualities that we sometimes need to be reminded of. The Fleur-de-lis symbol depicts the Lily flower and translated to English, symbolises life, light and perfection.

This is printed on a flatbed canon printer with genuine canon inks and is on 190g 90lb Bockingford watercolour paper for inkjet printing. MYTHS AND LEGENDS The rollright stones magical legend says a witch turned the army to stone and now when you count the stone soldiers the number's different each time, in that zone. Even when someone stands by the first one and you walk round and count them again, however many times you do it, there's a different amount of stone men! The world's full of mystery and magic but that poor armies end was tragic.
