Painting is signed on the back MIRROR MIRROR Mirror Mirror in my hand, behind me I see acres of land, but I’m sinking fast, in green quick sand, it’s not exactly what I had planned! Is it a reflection of my fears, due to all the speeding years, I wish I could slow down the gears at last, and stop the hamster wheel, going nowhere fast.

Influences

A large multi media impasto painting.

Influences was inspired by looking at abstract artists throughout the 20th Century from simple imagery to bold expression of both subject matter and form wherein I produced a painting which started by throwing swathes of impasto acrylic direct from the tuttle against a yellow grounded box canvas & criss-crossing these strokes of flying paint and letting them settle and harden where they lay.

That made a lattice work of marks which I then painted in, over and in between and added acrylic paint and layered over the top alkyd oils and Sennelier pastels ( a wonderful medium ) all eventually sealed.

Influences are there to be seen or found, I had in mind Kandinsky., Picasso, Cesar Manrique, Mr & Mrs Delaunay, Miro, Klimt, Klee, Rothko, Dali, Hoffman and many others.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this original painting and it deserves a good home.

That was the inspiration behind this relatively simple painting, I\'ve been there you have been there....let alone physically waiting.
