Angels of May
Description:
Angels of May is a large panoramic summer by a river semi-abstract landscape with a herd of deer and a white hart. It is 60x30 inches. Cow parsley and other wild flowers are hinted at in the foreground but are blurred as the focus is the deer across the river. One of the deer is a white hart. The style is semi abstract and is made up of lots of layers and some impasto brushwork. It has a lovely summer glow to it and lots of overlapping colours and energy. A small river is hinted at between the flowers. The inspiration for this painting was a group of deer I came across near the river Medway in Sussex recently. One was brilliant white (see photo) I was so happy to see them all I decided to paint them. Painted on 3D canvas, edges wite, no frame needed, ready to hang. Comes with certificate of authenticity from the artist.

Stag Materializing
Description:
Stag Materializing
Stag Materializing is an oil painting of a red deer stag painted in a semi abstract style and in vibrant rainbow colours. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is multilayered and multicoloured but the predominate colours are purples and oranges. The face and antlers of the stag are painted in a portrait style but the body becomes more and more transparent as it recedes into the strange space of the background. To the right is the hint of a pine tree. The painting was made as I sometimes really just want to paint a beautiful animal. Be advised that there is a texture to the painting as another painting is underneath it (also of a stag but smaller) some of this can be detected by touching it but it does not affect the majesty of the painting. Painted on 3D canvas, edges white, no frame needed, ready to hang, comes with certificate of authenticity by the artist.

Out of the Blue, a blue abstract deer painting
Description:
Out of the Blue is a large blue abstract painting with two female deer emerging from a beautiful blue universe. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. This is an unusual painting as it appears to be mostly blue. However, when the light changes, you will see many other colours ranging from pinks, purples, yellows and tans that only show when viewed from different angles - almost like the iridescent feather of a bird. The inspiration for the painting was simply to pay tribute to the beauty of female fallow deer but developed into something more abstract as more layers of paint were added. It is highly textured and hints at a woodland that the deer are coming from. I like to think that deer are magical beings and the intensity of the blue adds to that feeling. I have attached a âbefore and afterâ of the blue paint so you can see how it changed. It is painted on deep edge canvas, blue edges, ready to hang, no frame needed.

Tiger in the Ether
Description:
Tiger in the Ether is a 40x40x1.5 inches purple oil painting of a semi-abstract art-nouveau style tiger against an abstract background. The style is slightly art nouveau and makes use of the complementary colours of purple with yellow and orange with blue which makes the colours very vibrant and almost mystical. The background hints at trees and light behind them but is quite abstract. The tiger herself has a pensive expression and looks kinder than most tigers. She appears to be dissolving into the ether (ether being a spiritual idea) and has sparkles of light or energy flowing out from her. In reality, tigers really are in danger of dissolving out of existence so the message is quite poignant. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticy and gifts from the artist.

Divine Monarchs is a large semi-abstract wildlife painting of two deer
Description:
Divine Monarchs is a large semi-abstract wildlife painting of two deer in a bluebell wood in springtime. It is 48x48x1.5 inches. The painting was inspired by the months of April and May when the woodlands become carpeted in bluebells. I rarely spot deer in the forests as deer hide expertly, but in springtime it is easier to see them against the blues, lilacs and pinks of the flowers. I began the painting thinking to make a traditional portrait of a stag and a doe but found it impossible. Deer are just too ethereal and I am too inclined to try and capture the spirit of them rather than the anatomical accuracies - so this is what happened. The painting shimmers with the life and energy of the universe under trees and I have made the most of the interplay between sun and shade by contrasting the blue and lilacs of the shadows against the yellows, pinks and greens of the sun dappled scene. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang, no frame needed. Comes with certificate of authenticity

The Queen of May
Description:
The Queen of May is an exuberant springtime landscape painting with wild flowers and a white barn owl flying over an English meadow. It is a 36x36x1.5 inches, oil on canvas. A bridleway leads in from the left with a bank of cow parsley to the right. A white barn owl flies over the path. Behind her you see a blue sky and the slope of the South Downs with the patches of woodland through which ancient droverâs paths lead to the top. In May, cow parsley lines the edges of fields like lace and looks like the month is dressed up in its best dress â which is appropriate as this is when nature is most active in reproducing itself. This is an actual landscape that I visit often and is a place that has magic in it for me. I wanted to pay tribute to this area (near Ditchling) and also to help highlight the efforts of the âdonturbanisethedowns.comâ movement who are trying to prevent this area being built over

South Downs Winter
Description:
South Downs Winter is a large panoramic oil painting of deer and silver birch trees in snow with the South Downs Hills in the background. It is 60x36x1.5inches. The painting was inspired by a particular spot on the hills in East Sussex near Amberley. There is a stag to the left and three female deer to the right. I often feature this group of deer as I often seem to see three females and a buck together when out walking and they have come to be almost like mascots for me. It may not be the same 4 deer but I like to pretend it is. The style of the painting is semi-abstract art nouveau and the deer are the same pale colours as the landscape. This makes sense to me as deer are nurtured by the landscapes they live in and blend into it seamlessly when they want to. In fact, the almost mystical way in which deer appear and disappear is something that I never tire of seeing. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, is ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Frame not essential
