As I walked up the road to the tiny village of Sedbusk near Hawes in Wensleydale, I came across a grassy bank just where the road turns that was covered in Foxgloves.
It caught my imagination and I just had to capture it. It is painted in oils on a deep box canvas, with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required.

NESSIE
Deep in the depths
of old Loch Ness
live prehistoric monsters
where? they all search and guess.
Nessie outwits them all
as they sit on the cold
and watch the rain fall;
he's at home in the water
but we're like drowned rats
as they all do research
and look at the stats.
If he's there
he doesn't want to be found,
imagine their shock
if he came to ground!
Like Jurassic park,
they'd all run a mile
as Nessie turns the tables
and hunts them for a while.

Imagine cutting into a cricket ball
and finding a weird and wonderful fruit inside;
a leather lychee -
how surreal that would be,
like finding apple juice in a a peach -
that'd soon be gone,
I think it'd soon catch on!

it turns into fruit juice

PINK ELEPHANTS, GEESE & SWANS.
Has my goose flown
or did I cook it?
Never meant to if I did,
wish that I could hook it.
I can't even think
of elephants that are pink,
there's a dark grey one in the room;
he's singing to my tune;
his colour matches my mood
with him I sit and brood.
I don't wanna see happy pairings,
now I'm single I can't find my bearings.
Swans mate for life,
I wish I was a swan -
then you wouldn't be gone.
