Beautiful vibrant picture of three full blown English roses. I love flowers and this is painted using a variety of photos of roses blooming in my garden. It's nice to see some summer flowers on the wall when the days get darker. This is a square format, oil on canvas. Pink Peonies
Description:
Flowers are one of my favourites subjects for their colours and delicacy together with their transient nature. This is based on the Peonies growing in my garden. The painting is of dreamy pink flowers surrounded by white daisies on a mauve/blue background. The painting is not framed but can be hung without as the painting is continued on the canvas sides. Sunset over the Welsh coast
Description:
This is a painting of the coast of Wales at sunset. The colours were spectacular. I took the photo while we were visiting north Wales and I loved the colours. The painting is oil on canvas and is not framed. It can be hung unframed because the painting continues on the canvas sides. The painting is fairly textured in an attempt to portray the rugged coast if North Wales.

The Mother Tree
Description:
The Mother Tree is a very large, impasto, semi-abstract oil painting of a tree in a bluebell wood with deer. It is 60x36x1.5 inches. A Mother tree is a matriarch tree in any woodland that is connected to all the others. I came across this one in April 2025 and she was massive and very old and was clearly the queen of that particular patch of woodland. She was on a mound with a stream running past in a hollow glade with other trees all around. The bluebells were coming out and the whole space was a universe quite separate in atmosphere to the path that led in and out of it. I stayed a while in this magical space and it impressed me enough to paint this tree and to try and capture the size and majesty of it. Beneath the tree is a small white deer buck and on the left of the painting, silhouetted against the light, are three female deer. The colours are very pale, muted and neutral with grey, lilac, green and blue shades that reflect differently throughout the day as the light hits from different angles giving the painting a slightly ethereal feeling. Under Sea Rebel
Description:
Under Sea Rebel is a large blue and turquoise underwater seascape painting of a queen angel fish in a pristine Caribbean Sea. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The fish swims along intent on her goal and above her you can see the swirling surface of the rippling waves. Below her are the patterns of light that reflect from their motion across a sandy seabed. Behind the fish is the darker blue of deeper water in the distance. This painting was inspired by a recent Aruba holiday where I often saw this actual fish swimming around a particular jetty. I like the idea of the freedom she had if she could only continue to escape the tourists and fishermen. This is another in a series of underwater paintings inspired by the sheer beauty of a blue sea and the fish that live in it. Summer Fading
Description:
Summer Fading is a golden green abstract landscape with a white egret beside a small river with pink wildflowers. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. A white egret can be seen on the left rising out of the hidden river she was fishing in. Behind her are pink riverside flowers and beyond those you can see the glow of a golden field and shimmering trees. In the foreground you can see abstracted lines of an emerald green field. This is an actual moment of time I painted recently where I came across a startled egret by a small river. You canât see the river because of the angle but you can see the bird stretching her wings to fly out of it. The background is a golden green which helps to give this sultry abstract landscape an end of the summer type feeling â hence the title. I like to capture moments of time in natureâs cycles and this is a tiny snapshot of a little drama I enjoyed. The Spell Caster
Description:
The Spell Caster is a warm, colourful autumn woodland path semi-abstract painting with barn owl. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The painting is mostly orange and purple and though is clearly of woodland, it is built up with many transparent layers of rainbow colours and vertical marks and drips that give the painting the idea of it flickering in and out of a different reality. I find woodland magical and I find owls magical and I love autumn so this is the combination of those things. It was mostly inspired by some of areas of woodland around the Ashdown Forest in Sussex where you can go quite suddenly from a sunlight heathland into dark and sinister patches of dark forest. Follow the Dream

A golden, vibrantly coloured panoramic oil painting of the path through an ancient woodland in autumn. 40x16x1.5 inches. The painting technique is blurred and impasto and has a golden glow to it that changes throughout the day depending on the light. This painting almost vibrates with the promise of good things around the next bend. The inspiration was lots of woodland walks taken in autumn in the East Sussex area where the paths through the trees are often well worn and very old. Many were droversâ paths used for herding animals and the echoes of the past are very strong in some of them. I tried to capture the feeling of anticipation and hope of revelation that I often get when around trees and ancient forests. The title refers to the idea that it is a good idea to dream and that you may find what you are looking for around the next bend⦠Dedicated to nature conservationists everywhere. Painted on 3D canvas. The Song of the Deer is a colourful semi abstract oil painting of a group of deer in an autumn wood. It is 40x30x1.5 inches. The painting shows a fallow deer buck next to a pine tree as he looks towards three female deer in a clearing to his left and above him. The painting is very colourful and has a slightly fairy tale feeling to it - there is clearly a story (or song) going on between the male and the female deer. The inspiration for the painting was a walk I took in Knole Park, Sevenoaks one autumn where there is a long grassy valley between heathland and forest where the deer can be heard calling to each other during breeding season. The stag in this painting is one I followed for a while up a slope through some ferns which were in full autumn mode of gold, orange and green. Behind him I could see a small bunch of females appearing and disappearing out of the forest and ferns and I felt happy to be witnessing a cycle of nature that is timeless and fascinating to see.
