Sunset over the Welsh coast
Description:
This is a painting of the coast of Wales at sunset. The colours were spectacular. I took the photo while we were visiting north Wales and I loved the colours. The painting is oil on canvas and is not framed. It can be hung unframed because the painting continues on the canvas sides. The painting is fairly textured in an attempt to portray the rugged coast if North Wales.

New Beginnings
Description:
New Beginnings is an original oil painting in an ethereal semi-abstract style of a roebuck deer in a woodland glade. It is 36x36x1.5inches. The painting is vibrant and multi-coloured and hints at trees and leaves and dappled light in a spring forest. The roebuck is only half formed and it watching the viewer haughtily as roe deer tend to. Three shapes towards the centre of the canvas form tenuous portals or openings that could lead elsewhere. This painting was inspired by that exact idea. Often, especially in the ancient woodland copses of Sussex, I feel I could turn a corner and be in a whole new world. I like the idea â especially when I find a deer watching me (which is quite often in southern England). Anyone who walks in woodland will know the thrill of looking out from the trees to a clearing or a path beyond and that is the wonder of woodland and possibly one of the reasons so many fairy stories and folklore are founded in forests. The Eldritch Hart
Description:
The Eldritch Hart is a large original oil painting of a frosty January morning in England with a lone deer hart watching from the shadows of the path. It is a 48x36x1.5 inches oil on canvas. It is semi-abstract and unique in style and seems to shimmer between reality and abstract. The painting was inspired by a walk I took in the Lewes, South Downs area of England in January 2025. The frost made the colours muted yellows, purples, blues and browns. The day felt magical and full of the promise of spring to come. Nature held in suspension and only the birds were active (they start to sing again in January as soon as the days start to get longer). I did see deer on this walk and they never fail to make me happy. I have tried to not only capture the colours and temperature and details of this landscape, such as the low sun through the trees and the bare trees and frosty fields, but also the energy and feeling of it. Under Sea Rebel
Description:
Under Sea Rebel is a large blue and turquoise underwater seascape painting of a queen angel fish in a pristine Caribbean Sea. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The fish swims along intent on her goal and above her you can see the swirling surface of the rippling waves. Below her are the patterns of light that reflect from their motion across a sandy seabed. Behind the fish is the darker blue of deeper water in the distance. This painting was inspired by a recent Aruba holiday where I often saw this actual fish swimming around a particular jetty. I like the idea of the freedom she had if she could only continue to escape the tourists and fishermen. This is another in a series of underwater paintings inspired by the sheer beauty of a blue sea and the fish that live in it. Once Upon a Time
Description:
Once Upon a Time is a large oil painting of a colourful woodland path watched over by a small deer where strange things are about to happen. It is 48x48x1.5 inches. The painting shows an autumnal woodland path leading to a light filled clearing. The path is enticing and will lead you to the thing you most want to see there. To the left is a small female deer. Deer are often seen as spiritual harbingers or guides. The painting style is semi-abstract art nouveau and was simply inspired by the thrill I personally get when I walk from an ancient English wood into a light filled clearing. It is often magical and I often feel as if a revelation is about to happen. I am not sure of the basis of that feeling but I am not along in finding Nature quite magical and woodland walking quite therapeutic! Stag Materializing
Stag Materializing is an oil painting of a red deer stag painted in a semi abstract style and in vibrant rainbow colours. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is multilayered and multicoloured but the predominate colours are purples and oranges. The face and antlers of the stag are painted in a portrait style but the body becomes more and more transparent as it recedes into the strange space of the background. To the right is the hint of a pine tree. The painting was made as I sometimes really just want to paint a beautiful animal. Be advised that there is a texture to the painting as another painting is underneath it (also of a stag but smaller) some of this can be detected by touching it but it does not affect the majesty of the painting. The Spell Caster

The Spell Caster is a warm, colourful autumn woodland path semi-abstract painting with barn owl. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The painting is mostly orange and purple and though is clearly of woodland, it is built up with many transparent layers of rainbow colours and vertical marks and drips that give the painting the idea of it flickering in and out of a different reality. I find woodland magical and I find owls magical and I love autumn so this is the combination of those things. It was mostly inspired by some of areas of woodland around the Ashdown Forest in Sussex where you can go quite suddenly from a sunlight heathland into dark and sinister patches of dark forest. Follow the Dream
Description:
A golden, vibrantly coloured panoramic oil painting of the path through an ancient woodland in autumn. 40x16x1.5 inches. The painting technique is blurred and impasto and has a golden glow to it that changes throughout the day depending on the light. This painting almost vibrates with the promise of good things around the next bend. The inspiration was lots of woodland walks taken in autumn in the East Sussex area where the paths through the trees are often well worn and very old. Many were droversâ paths used for herding animals and the echoes of the past are very strong in some of them. I tried to capture the feeling of anticipation and hope of revelation that I often get when around trees and ancient forests. The title refers to the idea that it is a good idea to dream and that you may find what you are looking for around the next bend⦠Dedicated to nature conservationists everywhere. Painted on 3D canvas.
