A Day in December
Description:
A Day in December is a large oil painting of a pheasant in a winter woodland. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is impressionistic, art nouveau and contemporary in style and is a capture of a day I spent in December last year in Friston Forest near Seaford. Autumn was very late and there were still leaves on the trees but the sun was very low so all kinds of interesting colours were circulating between warm and cold under the tree cover and this is what I wanted to catch. The pheasant is just a gorgeous twit who looked perfect in the composition as he contains the colours around him and is very much a part of the landscape. This particular part of the forest is a favourite of mine as still retains a faintly ethereal and magical quality. Dedicated to everyone who works to keep the South Downs landscapes and wildlife unmolested. Painted on deep edge canvas, no frame needed, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

South Downs Winter
Description:
South Downs Winter is a large panoramic oil painting of deer and silver birch trees in snow with the South Downs Hills in the background. It is 60x36x1.5inches. The painting was inspired by a particular spot on the hills in East Sussex near Amberley. There is a stag to the left and three female deer to the right. I often feature this group of deer as I often seem to see three females and a buck together when out walking and they have come to be almost like mascots for me. It may not be the same 4 deer but I like to pretend it is. The style of the painting is semi-abstract art nouveau and the deer are the same pale colours as the landscape. This makes sense to me as deer are nurtured by the landscapes they live in and blend into it seamlessly when they want to. In fact, the almost mystical way in which deer appear and disappear is something that I never tire of seeing. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, is ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Frame not essential

resin geode lotus flower, coaster, trinket tray, rolling tray, jewelle
Description:
Beautiful geode style lotus flower coaster. The front is textured to resemble a geode, and catches the light beautifully. The reverse is smooth and can be used as a small rolling tray. Size is 6 x 5 inches.
These are hand made, so each is unique. The edges are finished in liquid gold or silver leaf, according to colour selections, or left plain if I feel that works better. If they are plain and you wish for them in silver or gold I'm always happy to change them at no extra cost. They are resistant to heat to 70-80 degrees.
They come presented in a gift bag. Postage to mainland UK is free. I'm happy to post abroad for additional cost. Buyer will need to check tax position and pay any additional taxes.
All coasters are handmade by myself, in my Norfolk art studio. I can create coasters in custom colour combinations on request. These will take 3-4 weeks as the resin needs to cure over that period. Simply drop me a message.

Titanic (my past life)
A few hours ago dancing and singing a ditty,
music and laughter all Irish and pretty;
seems far off now as I run for my life,
corridors are flooded, panic is rife.
I was in third class, I'm just not priority,
there're not enough lifeboats to seat the majority:
there's shouting and panic as the ship starts to sink;
I'm cold and afraid as it tips in the drink;
the lights all go out, I hang onto life and cry,
I'm only 33, I don't wanna die;
then I'm plunged into the waters icy depths,
underwater now, I hold my breath,
hanging on for dear life I surface again:
a sea full of people, freezing, in pain;
the lifeboats move away,
they care not for our health,
they're ok Jack, it's every man for himself;
eerie and silent, the cold cuts like a knife
as we gradually lose the battle to hold onto our life,
'will I be remembered,' as I take my last breath,
and slowly I sink into the waters icy cold depths.
