A beautiful surreal butterfly perched on a globe about to protect the last healthy tree. I love nature and wanted to incorporate how fragile our earth is and how we should protect it and I hope this piece encompasses those ideas in a fantasy way. It's the first butterfly I've ever painted and am delighted with the effects I achieved it's all acrylics on a ready to hang canvas and is sure to look fabulous on your wall
I have used melted wax on thin perspex to create this art work.. I use a special electric iron to paint the wax onto the perspex..its a lovely way of creating...you are never 100% what will happen beneath the hot iron which makes it interesting to do! The wax surface is on the inside of the picture so you actually viewing the reverse side of the wax.. It comes in a black frame and is ready to hang. Because of the nature of melted wax it is impossible to copy any painting done this way.. 25% of sales are being donated to the O'Connor Haematology /Cancer unit at the RSH
Bright and lively painting on standard canvas, 12inches x 10inches, painting continues around edges so no frame required. I have run out of wall space so show it here propped on a radiator just to give you the proportions. Fitted with D-rings and a cord at the back so it is ready to hang.
Only a Surfer Knows!
This original acrylic on canvas depicts a surfer experiencing a particularly nasty wipeout! It is supposed to show the feeling of helplessness as ,if you look closely, he or she tries desperately to cling on to an invisible lifeline. THere is a small hand in the face of the wave and a flying board. It can also be interpreted as feeling out of control in normal life situations.
Blue and White Beach Huts
Buttons And Boughs
Another painting that is a little different to the norm.. I started off painting a colourful sunset scene, then decided to add some interest with some buttons which I have stitched on to the trees as leaves. The painting comes ready to hang and has been varnished and strung. 25% of all sales are being donated to The O'Connor Haematology/Cancer Unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where my son is being treated.
