About the Artist
The Discovery
Description:
The Discovery is a large semi abstract oil painting of a green woodland lake in a clearing with a deer stag looking on. It was painted ââ¬Ëwet into wetââ¬â¢ style which gives the painting a rich painterly, messy art nouveau feel to it. The painting shows the view across part of a pond in a woodland with trees behind the furthest bank where a small deer stag watches in his imperious way. In the foreground are pink riverbank flowers that complement the greens. It is called ââ¬Ëthe discoveryââ¬â¢ as that is exactly what it was to me when I found this little lake in a woodland near Burwash in East Sussex (park at postcode TN19 7ET). Stags and deer feature often in my paintings because I see them almost every time I go out walking. I find them beautiful and magical and I love how they watch to see what I will do. It very much feels as though I am intruding on their territory ââ¬â which I am. This is a painting which captures a moment in time and makes me happy whenever I look at it as it takes me back there. It is 30x40x1.5 inches, wide edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed. Comes with certificate of authenticity.

White Horse Echoes
Description:
White Horse Echoes is a large framed equestrian oil painting in shades of pastel and white showing two white Spanish horses behind a white transparent veil. The style is impressionist and contemporary. The horses are galloping in a meadow filled with wildflowers with trees, fields and hills receding into the background. It is a very Sussex landscape. The painting was originally painted a few years ago in response to the horses and scenery I see around me quite often where I live. However, I recently decided to try glazing transparent white over the painting to make it more dreamlike. This is because horses are naturally dreamlike for me as I am allergic to them so canââ¬â¢t have much to do with them even though I find them really beautiful! It has made the horses both realistic and ethereal at the same time and I like the result. The painting has a basic white frame on it which makes the dimensions 54x44x1.5 inches in total.

A Spiral of Crows
Description:
A Spiral of Crows is a painting of Sussex winter landscape with a spiral of crows leading into the distance of a woodland path. It is 30x30x1.5 inches and was painted after a walk I took around Standen area near East Grinstead one November. It is painted in an expressionist style and in very thick impasto paint.I have a great affection for crows and ravens who I am convinced monitor me when I am walking and report back to each other. The spiral in this painting possibly leads to another dimension. I like to think so. The colours of this painting are very much England in winter colours and I am pleased with this as I am always trying to capture moments of time with these paintings. The location if you want to walk around here is: RH19 4NE. It is painted on deep edge canvas, 30x30x1.5 inches, white edges, ready to hang.

Horse Metamorphosis - a large contemporary red oil painting of beautif
Description:
Horse Metamorphosis is a 31.5 x 47x.0.5 inches large contemporary red oil painting of beautiful gold Arabian horse against an abstract bright red background. The golden horse dances in the foreground inside a dark forest with mottled light falling in patches on the path out towards the clearing. The path leads out of the woods and into a glowing summer wildflower meadow. Veils of transparent bright red hang over the scene as the horse begins to emerge from that world into a different one. The painting was started years ago simply to reflect the happiness I get when looking at a beautiful horse but become something more when the red veils were added which gives it a real presence. The original message of the painting was that there is more to life than hiding in the dark. I think now the message is more that there are other realities and that is worth exploring them. It is painted on thin edged canvas painted red, ready to hang.

The Chalk Path
Description:
The Chalk Path is an oil painting of a winding white chalk path through the Sussex countryside in springtime. It is 30x30x1.5 inches and was painted from my memory as I recalled a walk up the South Downs near Ditchling last spring. The path winds through fields and meadows and wildflowers up towards the ridge of hills that make up the Downs in the distance. There is a pink and purple blossom tree on the left among the hedgerows and gorse bushes. The edges of the painting are blended and blurred and the centre of it has bigger and bolder brush strokes to give the feeling of looking into a memory and drawing you into the landscape. One of the things that makes me love paintings is the fact that you can be somewhere else in an instant when you look at one. I liked being here and I am happy that I have captured a moment of my life that I loved and hopefully will make a few other people happy too. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang.

Summner Harmony
Description:
Summer Harmony is a small landscape oil painting 24x18x1.5 inches on canvas of a summer meadow and flowers with a swallow. It is art nouveau and semi abstract in style and very vibrant in colour. A swallow hovers over the meadow to the left and below her there are fields of wheat with wild flowers edging the fields. This is part of a series of paintings that try to capture the exuberance of Sussex fields and farmland in the summertime. Swallows feature often in my paintings as they are quite simply beautiful little birds and are only in the UK for the summer so it is a happy thing to see them. The painting is ready to hang, has white edges and does not need a frame.
