Grainstack, end of summer morning (after Monet) (2018)
Like the portrait of Monet this painting is part of my private collection, but I will gladly paint you another just like it, same size, same quality and at the price shown below. Monet painted a series of grainstacks at his home in Giverny, France. I enjoy painting versions of Monet's paintings because my stle of painting is very similar to Monet's. Similar, but very different. I would never try to pass one of my paintings off as being by Monet as to me it would be sacriledge. The signature would give it away anyway!
Waterlilies (after Monet) (2018)
Another of my Monet versions and again this painting is part of my private collection and is not for sale, but again I will gladly paint you another. I have been accused of trying to paint like Monet, but I vehemently disagree. I paint how I paint because that is the way I paint naturally. Besides it is not surprising that after nearly 20 years of studying the Impressionists and their work that a bit of their style has rubbed off on me.
Fishing Boats at Staithes
The beautiful small picturesque fishing village of Staithes on the east coast of Yorkshire, England with some fishing boats moored up when the tide is in. Painted in oils on a canvas panel and framed in a 20x14x2 inch brown frame with a gold inner line. If you would like it unframed please contact me - the price would be ã220. There is some reflection on the main photograph due to it being varnished.
A very unusual representation of a female nude figure apparently formed as a mosaic of coloured tiles but is in fact painted on a stretched canvas, ready to hang and set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 68cm x 48 cm overall x 35 mm deep.. It is meticulously painted with great attention paid to each individual âtileâ. This would be an eye catching talking point in any display.
Whitby Lifeboat Station
A view of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast as the sun starts to go down creating a luminosity in everything for a brief moment of time before the light finally fades. You are looking across to the Lifeboat Station on the old side of town and the old church on the cliff top. It is painted in oils on a stretched canvas with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required but it could be framed if you so wish.
Girl With Pearl Earstud
This is a portrait painted in the classic style. It was pre-selected for the RP exhibition at the Mall Galleries but did not make the final cut. It sold on the preview evening of a prestigious Yorkshire exhibition. The painting is set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 69cm x 48 cm overall x 35 mm deep. I am happy to accept commissions for similar works - please contact me for details.
Wisteria bridge at Monet's pond. Before sunset (2019)
The Wisteria Bridge at Monet's gardens is a constant source of inspiration for me. The gardens don't look quite like they did in Monet's day (the plants are different around the pond and they are a bit over mature for my liking) and so people ask me why do I go every year. I reply by saying "even though it's not the same this is where it all happened and I see or feel something different each time I'm here. The spirit of Monet and Impressionism is still here".
