Burley in Wharfedale Main Street (2019)
Description:
The large building on the right/middle of the painting is called "Elm House". Until recently it had a large elm tree in the front garden and would have blocked the view of the building and the painting would have looked completely different if I had painted it about four years earlier! There is a little bit of Lowry influence in this painting and that is the red coat worn by the pedestrian. Lowry used to paint things like a coat in red to make them stand out more.

Stormy sea at Flamborough
Description:
Flamborough is a small town on the Yorkshire coast near the more well known holiday destination of Bridlington. The headland in the distance is called Flamborough Head and contains in it many of my favourite coastal scenes like those of Selwicks Bay. The remaining cliffs are called Bempton Cliffs which is well known to birders as they are a popular nesting site for a variety of sea birds mainly Gannets. This painting captures the area on a stormy day in Winter.

The Slipway Robin Hoods Bay

A view of Robin Hoods Bay on the East coast of Yorkshire looking towards the slipway and the ice cream van that comes down onto the beach as the tide goes out.
