I love working with melted wax...and this painting was a joy to create! I have used a special iron and tools to manipulate the coloured high quality bees wax on the perspex.. Look closely and you will see all manner of things in the painting--faces and little creatures -- I can see a rams head on the left hand side of the painting! The other 2 pics are close ups.. The wax side of the perspex has been reversed into the frame to protect it. The frame is a plain black one that suits the painting beautifully. If you would like more photos of the picture please contact me.. Encaustic art paintings are always very unique because of the very nature of melted wax, so you will never see another one the same! A contemporary painting of a single red poppy. This is a romantic and fresh alternative to the single rose. I have textured the background with swirls of cream and coffee to set off the bright red petals of the poppies and to create a modern style. This is a simple and clean picture that would suit any living space. This painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish and the sides have been painted making this ready to hang with no need for framing.
view of Otley Chevin from Ilkley Moor (2016)
Near to where I live is the market town of Otley. Otley apart from being famous as the birthplace of Thomas Chippendale is also famous for it's Chevin. This painting shows Otley Chevin viewed from the tops of Ilkley Moor with the Cow and Calf Inn just out of view to the left. Otley Chevin is half way between being a hill and a mountain and is very popular with visitors to the area as well as walkers and day trippers as it affords great views of the local area.

The Owl and the Pussycat
This is one of my abstract swirl paintings in blue which was inspired by a landscape. It made me think of someone in a boat on very choppy water, hence the title The Owl and the Pussycat. It is painted in oils on a stretch canvas and is unframed, painted on all sides with a protective varnish ready to hang. Gift vouchers/certificates are available for all my paintings - please contact me if interested.
