A Summers Day
Castle Hill. The Red Gate.
Part of my ''Yesterday'' series of paintings.. Photos do not do this painting justice.. Beautiful shades of purples and blues...the water has a lovely shimmer of metallic paint that catches the light. I have used the same paint on the heads of the grasses, so they catch the light.. The painting is strung and ready to hang,, its had 3 coats of varnish to protect it. Reduced by £50
Sunflowers (after Van Gogh) (2010)
One evening in 2010 at a Burley Art Club we had a "Van Gogh evening" where we set ourselves the task of painting our own version of one of his paintings and this is my resulting effort. I enjoyed the evening so much that later in my own time I painted another from the Sunflower series which I am happy to say sold almost immediately.
