This is part of my series of popular paintings featuring either sunsets or evening scenes on a wide canvas..they are an ideal size for placing above a sofa, bed or table maybe.. Lovely shades of oranges and yellows in the beautiful sunset , the little family of rabbits are watching the sun come down.. The painting continues around the edges of the painting and it does not require a frame. It has been varnished to protect it and comes strung ready to hang and P+P in mainland UK is included in the price
The Houses of Pen Cei
Ravenscar, famous for it's seal population, is a small village on the Yorkshire coast near Whitby. This painting shows the influence of Edward Seago (a British 20th century landscape artist from Norfolk) with it's stormy clouds and shading on the landscape. It is the influence of Seago to paint, as he did, on board to achieve a smooth finish whilst still able to paint in a impasto style.
Self portrait (2019)
This is me painted in the way that I like to paint portraits by using only blue, red and yellow the three primary colours along with a lot of titanium white. I allow the colours to mix so that I can achieve the greens and oranges. Using titanium white allows me to achieve the different shades of colours that I might need.
Boats at Buttermere, Lake District
A beautiful view of Lake Buttermere in the Lake District, Cumbria, England with two small rowing boats moored up at the side of the lake. It is painted in oils on a 12x9x1/2 inch canvas painted on all sides so does not need framing though you could have it framed if you wished. It is varnished and can be hung from the canvas.
Wisteria bridge at Monet's pond. Before sunset (2019)
The Wisteria Bridge at Monet's gardens is a constant source of inspiration for me. The gardens don't look quite like they did in Monet's day (the plants are different around the pond and they are a bit over mature for my liking) and so people ask me why do I go every year. I reply by saying "even though it's not the same this is where it all happened and I see or feel something different each time I'm here. The spirit of Monet and Impressionism is still here".
