Radiance is a panoramic autumn landscape painting of autumn trees and colours in a radiant forest. It is 16x40x1.5 inches oil on canvas. It was painted âwet into wetâ style meaning the canvas was covered in wet paint and oil and then I kept working into to it during one long session. The place that inspired the painting is part of the gardens of Standen House, National Trust property, near East Grinstead in Sussex. If you get the right moment in in Autumn, the trees glow like stained glass windows and walking through them on the crispy leaves is one of the biggest joys you can get from nature, especially if the sun is out. The wide canvas makes the scene look almost holy and cathedral-like and that captures the essence of Autumn for me. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed and ready to hang.
The Old Mill, Colton.
A picturesque view of the old mill at Colton near Leeds when it was a crumbling neglected ruin before it was refurbished. This small painting is the first version of the larger painting that is on show in my gallery which I feel turned out rather well considering the speed at which it was painted. It is painted on a stretched canvas with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required but it could be framed if you so wish.
Modern contemporary painting inspired by English spring gardens. The flowers are raised from the fresh yellow background using textured layers which lets the light catch them, creating a new aspect each time you look at the painting. The fresh colours will complement most colour schemes and the painting continues round the edges of this standard edge canvas so it is ready to hang with no need for framing. This creates a very simple but effective style. This painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish.
Contemporary painting of a white poppy depicted against a pale brown background. This is a modern painting that will go with most colour schemes. There are bronze/gold highlights and texture to add extra interest. The painting continues round the edge of the canvas making this ready to hang. The painting is on a deep edge canvas and has been finished with a protective satin varnish.

The Gamechanger is a large autumn landscape with a magical stag appearing on a woodland path. It is 40x40x1.5 inches, white edges, no frame needed. The style is semi abstract art nouveau and shows a deer stag on the left looking toward the viewer. He is not fully formed but is making his presence felt in that imperious way that stags have. Behind him and to the right is a path and autumn coloured trees in bright gold, orange and magenta. The forest itself was inspired by Eartham forest on the South Downs near Slindon. I was there in late summer and took a long walk through the various paths through the trees without meeting a soul. It was hot and quiet and a little bit spooky and I could believe every fairy story I ever read whilst I was there. The Stag is a recurring theme in Sussex landscape paintings because the forests that used to cover the area still have many pockets of woodland left where deer are quite abundant. Despite this, they manage to remain beautiful and if any woodland creature is magical, it is the deer. This stag has a message and you have to walk the path to find it. He is a gamechanger.
Still Life Hydrangeas
An oil painting of some beautiful pink hydrangeas that I picked out of my garden. They are sitting on a table in a vase in front of my room window. It is painted on a 20x16 inch canvas and is painted on all sides so can be hung without a frame or you can frame it if you like. The side views have a yellow cast because they were photographed in electric light.
