Caught in the Act
Description:
Caught in the Act is a very large oil painting of an idyllic alpine scene exploding out of a deep blue canvas. It is 48x48x1.5 inches. A white owl can be seen to the left looking back at us as if she has been caught in the act of creating the landscape itself. She looks surprised. In the background there are snow tipped mountains with a green valley and pine trees on the slopes descending from them. A river is running through the middle of the valley where in the foreground it becomes a waterfall surrounded by wildflowers in rainbow colours. The edges of the painting are dark blue which heightens the vibrancy of the drips and blobs of paint emerging from the scenery. I like the idea something being in the process of being formed as it parallels the whole practice of painting something - whereby you think of something you want to paint and then try to make it appear by moving paint around! This is another in a series of paintings I have made inspired by the Interlaken area of Switzerland. It is painted on deep edge canvas, dark blue, does not need a frame and is ready to hang.

personalised family tree FT1
Description:
Personalised family tree. You choose leaf colours, I create for you to finish when you add your family names in pen ( either paint pens such as Posca or a Sharpie works well). Customise your own family tree for a great gift.
These trees are made from copper wire and have resin "leaves" where you can add your family names, or initials and dates. I've found that about 8 letters in one line is maximum to keep clear.
I've used red and yellow in the example tree, but I can do them in any colour you choose. I keep the leaves off the tree and the wire uncurled, so that once ready its easy to simply pin through hole, and twist wire to keep in place. Its a soft wire and easy to twist by hand. I use 20 leaves as default, however I can add more on request.
The tree is set in a resin base coloured to match the leaves, but again can be any colour of your choice.
As these are hand created please allow three weeks for delivery. If you need one sooner I will do my best to accomodate, depending on work load. Please contact for more info.
My artwork is unique, one of a kind. All artwork is handmade by myself, in my Norfolk, UK, art studio.

The Soothsayer
Description:
The Soothsayer is a large colourful oil painting of a red deer stag against a semi abstract background. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The stag is partly transparent which adds to the spiritual aspect of deer that is prevalent in many cultures. Deer are often seen as spirit guides or messengers â possibly because they are very adept at appearing and disappearing suddenly and do have an elegant and ethereal quality to them. Most people are thrilled when they see deer when out walking and I am one of these even though I see them very regularly on my walks in Sussex. Though I often add them to my paintings to enhance the landscape itself, this painting is about the deer itself. It is a total mystery to me how people can kill them for âsportâ. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed.

Comet
Description:
I love this little painting!
The colours are so vibrant in "real Life" I even managed to get some texture in it making it look like there are pieces flying off a comet.
I have used some metallic paint in parts and it really catches the light..
Turquoise blue,yellow, orange merge with the black paint.
Some lovely effects on there that my camera isnt picking up..

The Thin Place
Description:
The Thin Place is a wide panoramic landscape painting of wild hareâs playing in a summer wildflower meadow. It is 30x60x1.5 inches and was inspired by the wildflower meadows I found on the South Downs near Graffam last summer. I did, in fact, come across a large red hare on one of the wooded slopes that lead up to these meadows which felt magical in itself as we both stood dead still to watch each other. The painting came about as I imagined what this hare would be doing when no one was around to see her. The Sussex South Downs are ancient and you often feel you may have crossed over into a different time period as you walk them. The term âthin placeâ apparently means an area where the barriers between two or more worlds are thin and can be crossed into. Evidence of Roman pathways, burial mounds, medieval farming etc can all be found and some of echoes from the past also helped inspire this painting. It is dedicated to all those people who are working so hard to preserve this beautiful area and to the South Downs National Park.
