The March Hare
The beautiful March Hare, wonderfully alert darting across the fields. Recreating the movement of this amazing animal from photo to canvas was challenging but great fun, while making sure to capture his stunning, excitable wide eyes and multi-shaded coat. Painted in oils on boxed canva no need to frame.
horse trio, A3, Acrylic pouring art, wedding gift, birthday present,
Abstract artwork on canvas. This is done via a pouring acrylics method, and then enhanced with paint and paint markers when dry.In this case the initial pour suggested horses, so i pulled out and added details to make them more obvious. Its finished with two coats of varnish and ready to hang or can be framed if you wish. This work is 8 inches high by 20 inches wide. My artwork is unique, one of a kind. I do not sell prints. All artwork is handmade by myself, in my Norfolk, UK, art studio. I leave it unframed so you can chose what you like, not what I like ;-) Works on canvas can be framed or hung as they are. ÃÂ P&P to mainland UK included in price. Delivery by courier service. Postage abroad can be quoted for on request.
White Horse Echoes
White Horse Echoes is a large framed equestrian oil painting in shades of pastel and white showing two white Spanish horses behind a white transparent veil. The style is impressionist and contemporary. The horses are galloping in a meadow filled with wildflowers with trees, fields and hills receding into the background. It is a very Sussex landscape. The painting was originally painted a few years ago in response to the horses and scenery I see around me quite often where I live. However, I recently decided to try glazing transparent white over the painting to make it more dreamlike. This is because horses are naturally dreamlike for me as I am allergic to them so canââ¬â¢t have much to do with them even though I find them really beautiful! It has made the horses both realistic and ethereal at the same time and I like the result. The painting has a basic white frame on it which makes the dimensions 54x44x1.5 inches in total.
Irish Red Fox
This painting was produced in my tiny ground floor flat, I made up every excuse possible not to paint here, Too small not enough room, not enough light, ran out of paints, the list goes on! I had my close friends that gave me the encouragement and determination to paint against the odds, and have fun on the way. This was a joy to do, love the detail, the slyness and shyness of this clever cunning fox. Painted with oils on boxed canvas, no need to frame.
Supernatural is a large semi abstract, expressionist oil painting of a glowing summer evening meadow with deer. It is vibrantly coloured with lots of overlapping transparent layers which you can look through to see different aspects of the landscape. There is a low sultry sun behind the trees and to the right is a deer stag just beginning to appear like an apparition. To the right is a group of three female deer also quite ethereal. These deer often appear in my paintings (one stag and three doeââ¬â¢s) and I was delighted, having just finished the painting, to see a group of fallow deer just like them in real life as a walked along a back road near Wadhurst! It was interesting that they made their appearance on this road as the meadows around this part of the Sussex Weald do have the same kind of feeling that I was putting into the painting. To see if you can also spot my deer and the meadows I am painting, park at the Greyhound Car park, Wadhurst, TN5 6AP and take any number of paths into the countryside there. It is 36x48x1.5 inches, wide white edges, white, no frame needed and ready to hang.
Night Magicians is a large oil painting on canvas of three white barn owls flying across a lilac and orange twilight sky. It is contemporary art nouveau in style which you can see from the stylised shapes of the twigs and branches of the delicate white tree tops. Each of the owls (associated with the Goddess Athena by the way) is looking a different direction as if they are about to go their separate ways. Owls donââ¬â¢t really flock together so maybe they are. Owls are elegant beautiful birds and are all the more mysterious from being so quiet and hard to spot during the day time. This idea alone was enough for me to want to paint this. It is 40x40x1.5 inches, white edges, wide edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed.
The Irish Red Stag
My biggest painting yet,a big challenge! I had to stand on my chair for this one. A very close and dear friend of mine gave me the inspiration on this piece, he got me back into painting again after a difficult time in my life and also in lockdown, it pulled me out of a downward spiral, so I owe a lot to him. I love the power the proudness and the elegance of this amazing animal, I've tried to capture all of this, the pure beauty of this fine mammal with his statement antlers. A wonderful and very personal painting, very close to my heart. Painted in oils on boxed canvas no need to frame.
