The Arrival is a 16x40x1.5 inches wide panoramic oil on canvas painting of a spotted male fallow deer running across a semi abstract forest landscape. There are trees behind him and a tree tunnel towards the middle. The stag looks as though he has just touched down and is running to avoid toppling over. He is intent of arriving somewhere. The colours are predominantly orange and green which gives a golden autumn landscape feel to the scene. On deep edge canvas, no frame needed.
A very unusual representation of a female nude figure apparently formed as a mosaic of coloured tiles but is in fact painted on a stretched canvas, ready to hang and set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 68cm x 48 cm overall x 35 mm deep.. It is meticulously painted with great attention paid to each individual âtileâ. This would be an eye catching talking point in any display.
Contemporary painting of rich gold and copper sunflowers against a cream and brown background. The background and sunflower centres are textured with different layers and effects for added interest. The painting continues round the edges of the canvas making it ready to hang with no framing necessary. This painting is on a deep edge box canvas and has been finished with a protective satin varnish.
Somewhere Waiting is a large semi abstract square oil painting of a mythical landscape with deer (40x40x1.5 inches). The stag and three female deer, stand at the centre of the painting and there is a hint of a waterfall below them and trees and mountains above and around them. The deer are small and well defined though slightly nebulous at the same time. I often use this same little posse of deer in my paintings as they seem perfect together. Below the deer, if you look closely, you can see the outline of a much bigger stag who was painted over and has now become part of the waterfall. The painting began with a simple desire to use the colours in it which include magenta, rose, purple, lilac, pale blue, white and golden yellow. The painting worked well as an abstract landscape but I feel it is better with the little deer adding some focus to it. Most of my paintings have a story or memory attached. This one is about the spiritual nature of deer and the idea that maybe they can move between worlds and can act as guides. This idea is common to many cultures and I like it. This painting is on 3D, deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang, frame not needed.
ORBS - UNFRAMED ABSTRACT A4 ARCHIVAL PRINT WITH SEPARATE POEM
This A4 Print is printed on Bockingford double sided watercolour paper (190g 90lb) for inkjet printing on a Canon flatbed printer with genuine canon inks. The paper is archival and makes beautiful copies that make them look like an original. This was a photo of part of my painting "Unknown Territory" which I made into this A4 Print. ORBS They show up in a photo or video; unexplained baubles of light; you didnât notice at the time but you felt something odd with no reason or rhyme: it could be a spirit from a bygone time â tune in to the feeling let your intuition shine.
The Stilt Lady Bids Welcome
The Hart of the Green Wood
The Hart of the Green Wood is a large contemporary style oil painting of an ethereal deer stag in a clearing in a green forest. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. There are many shades of green and many transparent layers which give the painting a mystical fairy tale quality. It also catches the light in interesting ways - a little like a stained-glass window. It is the sort of tall tree green wood you see in dreams. The hart (a stag over 5 years old) stands on the right looking at something we canââ¬â¢t see. He is materialising and not quite of this world. Real deer have the habit of watching humans in their forests and then vanishing once they have finished staring at you. It always amazes me how such a large animal can do this so easily ââ¬â as if they naturally have some magic to them. The painting was inspired by a walk I took in the Cowdray Forest (RH17 6QG) near Turners Hill. It is full of tall pine trees and ancient oaks and is worth a visit! Dedicated to all fellow dreamers and lovers of fairy tales. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed.
Something a little different to my norm.. I really enjoyed creating this small series of abstract paintings.. I have used oil paints on a black background, and merged all of the colours together as I have painted.. This canvas measures 80cm x 60cm but you could turn it the other way up if you chose! Its been strung and varnished and is ready to hang.
