Once Upon a Time a Child's Fantasy
Once upon a time is a child's fantasy story. The reference photo was taken as a little boy sat beneath a tree in the spring which was a bright sunny day, shadows danced across the ground as the child sat on his haunches deep in thought. Using artistic licence and a lot of imagination which I love to do I was able to create a fantasy which I hope in turn tells a story.
A Sudden Storm at Sea
A Sudden Storm at Sea. A ship caught in a savage storm at sea, she flounders as the might of the ocean pounds her deck, sinking beneath the wild waters as wave after wave roll over the wreck . A few brave souls in a small rowboat, hoping against hope to reach the shore before it too becomes enveloped in the maelstrom
Night Time in Rome
The Vatican City is an independent state located entirely within the city of Rome. It is situated across the Tiber River from the centre of Rome. The distinctive dome of St. Paul's Cathedral can be seen from many locations in Rome Italy. At night with the refection's playing on the surface of the water from highly illuminated buildings and footpaths this is a really charming place to stroll on a summers night.
Cheetah in the Serengeti.
The Parties Over When a Lovely Flame Dies As the morning light streams through the window on a new day, the strains of the last song she heard that evening, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, echoes through her mind. And she wonders, will these the only memories left of a night spent dancing, just a pair of red shoes discarded on the floor, and a few stems of white Calla lilies. Love can be a fickle thing
Children Playing on a Beach
Children playing on a sandy beach on a warm summers day. This painting is thought provoking to past times the innocence of childhood fun, splashing unconcerned in the sea, scrabbling amongst the rock pools searching for tiny crabs or small fish left behind by the outgoing tide. Children busy digging with their buckets and spades building sandcastles. A young boy finds some seaweed and as he carries it along the beach he attracts the attention of the family pet dog that wants to join in the fun. The reflections in the wet sand add interest to the painting whilst a forlorn sandcastle lies in ruins where it has been trampled on in the rush to the sea. The rolling clouds across the sea whilst in the distant horizon the blues merge into one with the sky.
A young Ella Fitzgerald she was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States She could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz and imitate every instrument in an orchestra. She worked with all the jazz greats, from Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, to Frank Sinatra. Her audiences were as diverse as her vocal range. They were rich and poor, made up of all races, all religions and all nationalities. Using a referance photo from legendery Herman Leonard with his permission, many thanks Herman as ever.
