Description:
Most of our wintery mornings have been rather drab, gloomy and grey but the sun just streamed through the trees on this particular morning and it made me smile, so I wanted to capture the moment in paint. Acrylic on canvas.

Smoke Rising to Croker Hill
Description:
This is a fairly large canvas of a rural scene above Macclesfield. It's a view from Back Eddisbury Road towards Croker Hill on a bright winter's day. I liked the way the light caught the smoke as it drifted upwards and how vibrant the 'greens' were despite it being mid-winter. Acrylic on canvas.

Chapel Street, Macclesfield
Description:
Macclesfield has many streets like this and I loved the way all the buildings seem piled on top of one another, with lots of roofs and chimneys all jumbled in. It's an autumn view of Chapel Street from Windmill Street, another very old road in Macclesfield. Lots of vibrant brick reds and purple - blue slate greys. Acrylic on canvas.

Description:
Another painting from the A537 Buxton to Macclesfield road near Tor Brook below the Cat and Fiddle, just after a storm had passed. I wanted to show how bright the colours appeared in the sunlight after the rain, despite the dark clouds overhead. It's acrylic on canvas.

Description:
This is a small sketch in acrylics of a snowy day above Disley. The colours really glowed against the snow in the (rare) winter sunlight. Bowstones is a pretty isolated spot but can be seen for miles around.

Description:
This is a small sketch of Tegg's Nose from Higher Sutton. It was quite a stormy morning and as I approached Higher Sutton the clouds lifted and gave me this sunny, coulourful view - you can see the shadow of the remains of the storm clouds on the lower slopes. Acrylic on canvas.
