Polperro waiting for the tide
This is Claudine, a beautiful young lady of French Polynesian origin who, with her husband Armand, runs a marvellous little restaurant just off the chic (and very expensive) main street in the town of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France former home of Paul Cezanne. Their very reasonably priced restaurant is one for the gourmet and serves meals in a wonderfully romantic atmosphere enhanced by the mellow lighting from the candles, hence the inspiration for this painting. The work is painted in oil on a stretched canvas and is set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 88 cm x 68 cm x 35mm overall. It is strung ready for immediate hanging.

Woodpecker Romance is a tall painting on canvas (40x16x1.5 inches with wide edges) of two woodpeckers flirting with each other on two trees. The style is art nouveau and contemporary. The two trees rise up in a winnowy elegant motion and the branches curl around each other making sinuous patterns against the gold tinted sunset sky. The paint is thick and textured and the patterns continue around the edge of the canvas on all sides. This painting is not a typical one for me as there was no real inspiration for it apart of just liking art nouveau and woodpeckers and getting a concept in my mind that it would look good. I like the simplicity of it and the playfulness of the birds. It is ready to hang and does not a frame.

Boats at Buttermere, Lake District
A beautiful view of Lake Buttermere in the Lake District, Cumbria, England with two small rowing boats moored up at the side of the lake. It is painted in oils on a 12x9x1/2 inch canvas painted on all sides so does not need framing though you could have it framed if you wished. It is varnished and can be hung from the canvas.
The March Hare
The beautiful March Hare, wonderfully alert darting across the fields. Recreating the movement of this amazing animal from photo to canvas was challenging but great fun, while making sure to capture his stunning, excitable wide eyes and multi-shaded coat. Painted in oils on boxed canva no need to frame.
November Glowing is a large oil on canvas painting of a glowing autumn Sussex landscape with a deer stag among the trees. (36x48x1.5 inches). It is very colourful and vibrant and messy art nouveau expressionist in style. It was inspired by my memory of view from the back of the church yard in Burwash, East Sussex, during November of 2020. The trees still had some autumn leaves on them and the ground was wet and glistening. The fields glowed green and the small hills and vales between them where full of little streams. I spent 4 hours wandering about in the mud with low angled November sun rays blinding me. It sounds unpleasant but was in fact absolutely glorious. The edges of the painting have been deliberately blurred which helps direct the attention into the scene better. A stag stands between two trees considering his domain. This painting makes me happy. It reminds me of a beautiful place and beautiful day. It is dedicated to all the people who live in and around and take care of the landscapes of Burwash (Rudyard Kipling country). It is ready to hang, white edged deep edge canvas, ready to hang.
The Slipway Robin Hoods Bay
A view of Robin Hoods Bay on the East coast of Yorkshire looking towards the slipway and the ice cream van that comes down onto the beach as the tide goes out. It is painted in oils on a stretched canvas with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required but it could be framed if you so wish.
